JENNY HRBACEK, RN

Jenny is the wife of former Sugar Land Mayor, Dean Hrbacek and mother of three young adults. She is active in local Fort Bend County organizations such as Fort Bend Cares, the Spirit of Freedom Republican Women’s Club and Quail Valley Church. She has participated in fund raising efforts for the Fort Bend Women’s Center, the American Cancer Society, Casa, and the Houston Figure Skating Club.

She began her nursing career at Texas Children’s Hospital where she spent six years working with premature infants and their families. The next several years were spent with a busy family and political schedule.

Diagnosed with breast cancer in April 2009, Jenny set out on a life changing journey. The experience of receiving multiple surgeries and chemotherapy resulted in feeling a loss of control over the situation. Jenny understands and has personally experienced the deep sorrow that often envelops a cancer patient. As a result, today Jenny spends time communicating with other newly diagnosed women and offering them encouragement. She is also working with Dr. Kelly Dempsey of Sugar Land supporting breast cancer survivors and other women on their journey to a positive self-image. Treatment for breast cancer will often leave women with an altered physical appearance. Together, they provide reconstruction of the breast areola by the use of permanent cosmetics. Patients also receive permanent eyeliner and eyebrows prior to beginning chemotherapy that produces hair loss. Jenny has utilized her nursing skills to become a post-mastectomy and permanent makeup specialist.

She enjoys travel and studying the prophetic word of God.
